The "Employment Contract for an Employee: Fixed Term" tool is a basic template for establishing a contract between an employer and an employee.
There are several ways to write employment contracts. You should therefore adapt the template to each situation. Once signed, the contract governs the contractual relationship between the parties thereto. In addition, you should ensure that the contract reflects the agreement in place and does not violate applicable labour laws (occupational standards, health and safety, etc.). To that end, it is recommended that you consult a legal advisor who is a member of the Quebec bar association.
It should be noted that the person who signs the agreement on behalf of the employer must be authorized to do so by resolution of the board of directors.
